We all have a brief idea about what is Reiki, but very few of us actually have some in depth knowledge about it. For a small reminder, Reiki is basically a Japanese technique used for stress reduction and to relax your body. The process of Reiki is mainly conducted by laying your hands on your body causing some energy flow which is the main reason after our life and death. Reiki is a energy providing treatment for rejuvenating our body. Thus basically by relaxing and freeing us from all the tensions and worries Reiki helps us to heal our body and soul.

Technically according to the Usai system, Reiki has been distributed into three basic levels or degrees of energy. But later during the Takata era further smaller branches were created from one of these levels.

Reiki First Level: This first level of Reiki makes the person actually capable to heal others through hands. In this level primarily aims to healing oneself first before you start healing others. But, through the Reiki channels, you can also heal others. The first level includes the proper physical cleansing of the channel where in the channel may suffer from some minor physical discomforts like cold, fever etc. You can attain this attunement at any age but not below 6 years of age and during any time. To achieve this first level attunement, a channel may require just one day. But this will not be all he has to continue to practice it regularly and perhaps may have to be re-attunement later. During this first level, you may feel some changes in your body such as an improved immune system and a healthy body.

Reiki Second Level: The second level of Reiki is a lot stronger and powerful than the first level. This second level of Reiki has the power to heal others not just physically but is capable to treat a patient across a far distance. Sending the power of Reiki to a person across a long distance is just a small part of the whole capability. You can actually send the power to any event or a group of people in an occasion.

In this level, the channel has to undergo emotional healing and might experience mood swings, resurfacing of past memories etc. thus during this process, the unresolved issues of the past are healed and thus cleansed. The best results of practicing Reiki can be achieved if the channel practices Reiki for about 3 months after achieving the first level. Thus, to bring the complete body into a state where you have to undergo minimum cleansing, you have to practice Reiki for a couple of months continuously. At the end of this level, the channel will feel his intuition power developing and also becoming stronger with every practice.

Reiki Third Level: The third level of Reiki can be specifically called as the level of Reiki Master. In this level, the Reiki Master has the capability to teach Reiki to others and also give Reiki attunements to them. This level has been further divided into three further branches namely the Reiki level IIIA, IIIB and IIIC.

Reiki IIIA: This level can be said to be at least ten times more powerful than the earlier levels. In this level, the Master can simply pass out energy to the needy by thoughts alone. During the cleansing process in this level, the channel may experience a number of things. As Reiki is a spiritual healing process which may cause certain weird dreams, glimpses from the past life and also resolve some fears. Any channel who has practiced the second level of Reiki for a minimum of two years is capable to get into the third level. With a regular practice, the channel can pass out energy to any event by just thinking about it. Thus at this level positive energy and positive thinking plays a very important role.

Reiki IIIB: Once the channel has reached this level, he has the ability to teach others upto levels one and two. In this level when the teacher (Grandmaster) feels that the learner (Master) has reached upto a satisfactory mental, emotional and spiritual level, then the teacher can gives mastership further to the student. The time required to achieve this level, is not defined as it is completely dependent on the teacher and the student.

Reiki IIIC: The Reiki IIIC level is the final level in this degree. Any person practicing this level can be said to be the Reiki Grandmaster. The grandmaster can preach any level of Reiki to any of the other learners. The person practicing Reiki at this level has to assist his teacher and also learn from the practices. Also the time taken to pass out this level under a Grandmaster may take any number of days and so it mainly depends on the Grandmaster and the student (Master).

If you are serious about meditating, then it is important to set yourself with a timetable or schedule so that you can meditate on a frequent basis. You don’t have to meditate daily, but you have to arrange your life in such a manner that you set aside some time on a regular basis.

Many people who carry out meditation on a daily or regular basis have noticed that they feel better both physically and mentally. Scientists have carried out studies that have recognized that those who practice meditation often live longer as compared to those who don’t. In fact many people have said that daily meditation has also helped them feel younger.

There are several benefits to daily meditation and some of them are as follows:

  • Freeing your mind. In the society we live in, there are plenty of strains and stresses in everyday life. Having the chance to relieve that stress and freeing yourself on a regular basis is very rejuvenating. If you are able to, then meditate on a regular basis for this reason alone.
  • Physical exercise. Meditation does not have to mean sitting still for hours on end. It is essential to stretch your body both before and after doing meditation. This will help to make your body more flexible and will help you to remain comfortable while you are meditating.
  • Feeling young again. As daily meditation aids you to feel young this is a great benefit. You will get an increase in both physical and mental energy which will help you in your day to day life.

The benefits of carrying out daily meditation are not instant. Just as a tree takes a life time to grow strong, meditation also takes a long time to rejuvenate the body, mind and soul or slow down the aging process. The sooner you start to meditate and the more often you meditate, the faster you will attain your goal. This is one of the main reasons why daily meditation is advantageous. Meditation is something which you can over do. You probably don’t want to spend your whole life in a dream, but even if you can spend a few hours a day, it will not harm you.
