Over the time this miraculous healing technique became highly popular among the people and many people have started taking the best advantage its rich source of energies to cure any type of physical problems. Reiki could now be studied at various places in the world on diverse levels and one can find many new branches of instructions in this medium. Many reiki practitioners go through different levels of the study to master the art under the well trained and seasoned masters. Achieving higher levels of reiki education is in order to get certified as a genuine reiki practitioner. Normally, one has to complete successfully the basic three levels of reiki lessons and then he can go for an advanced version of the reiki instructions known as master degree or master level that authorizes him to teach other people the art of healing.

Let’s examine some of the popular traditional instructions of reiki. Usui Shiki Ryoho: This is the original branch brought into the practice by Mrs. Takata. This is followed by reiki alliance masters and solitaries alike. It is inclusive of three degrees which normally being taught without maintaining any notes. The first degree has four attunements – the history and the mythos, hand positions and channeling reiki energy for self healing as well applying healing to others as well. The second degree is inclusive of more attunements like sacred symbols, distance, absentee healing and healing emotional and mental disorders. The fourth sacred symbol is taught and technique for the initiation and channeling more energy. Raku kei reiki: It is also known as the way of the fire dragon. It is claimed to be made of directional flow of energy. Raku symbolizes vertical flow and Kei stands for horizontal flow of energy. The first and second degree of reiki is taught as a single class and talk about a man named Rolf Jensen, hand positions, healing techniques, usage of master frequency plates and the traditional symbols of reiki like distance, absentee healing etc. The third degree reiki sensei has attunements to all three levels with the addition of a breath technique known as Breath of the fire dragon. Tera Mai or Tera Mei Seichem: This is a subsidiary branch of Raku Kei reiki with few changes including energy activation of Sakara. The energy of reiki is quite earthy and that is why it is called as Tera. The lesson format is similar but with the addition of some symbols, a water ceremony and YOD initiation which is said to connect the initiate with the energies of the Arc of the Covenant. Usui or Tibetan reiki: This is an ideal blend of traditional, Raku Kei and Rand’s own developments. Besides the attunement it emphasizes on the traditional Usui Reiki like energy grids, exercise and performing chakra and aura work and psychic surgery.
