Home Remedies For SunburnThe sunburn occurs normally due to excessive exposure to the harsh ultra violet rays of the sun. The ultra violet A & ultra violet B, both the types of the rays are very strong and harmful to the skin. Ultra violet A affects the underlying layers and ultra violet B attacks on the outer layer of the skin. When they are reflected on the water, metal, snow or sand, they reflect increasingly. The strength of sunburn depends of the amount of exposure from the individual, the geographical location, the time and the atmospheric conditions. Sunburns like any other burn are classified as first degree, second degree and third degree burns. Normally sunburns are considered as the first degree burns. The symptoms of a first degree burn include pain, heat, redness and tender to the touch on the affected part of the skin. These symptoms can appear from 1 to 24 hours after exposure to the sun. After a couple of days, this type of burn will cool into a suntan or thin layers of skin may peel off. The symptoms of second degree sun burn include extreme reddening, swelling, pain and even bubble can appear. The burn goes deeper into the layer of the skin, damaging small blood vessels and elastic fibers in the skin and in some cases it results into wrinkling of the skin. In most severe cases, the burn may be accompanied by chills, fever, sickness or delirium, visual difficulties, excessive itching, fluid filled blisters are experienced. Sunburn such as this is extremely painful and for children is terribly dangerous. The effect of the sun exposure is a common concern because of the decline in the earth’s ozone layer. The ozone’s layers are what protect us from the harmful ultra violets rays of the sun which damages our skin and causes many diseases like skin cancer. However mild sunburns through quite painful can be treated at home. There are many home remedies for the sun burn may help soothe burned skin and offer relief from the pain.

It is advisable to use coconut oil on the sun burn affected area of the skin because of its therapeutic smoothness. It does not only offer relief but it prevents skin tone from formation of bubbles. You need to grate some cucumber and should apply the extract on the affected patch. Cucumber extracts is an excellent natural skin toner having instant cooling properties against the burning pain of sun tan. Application of aloe Vera leaf extract or gel helps to alleviate the pain and irritation of sun burn. You can also try a mixture lemon juice and natural honey to treat sun burn patches. This herbal mixture is highly effective and offers instant relief from the burning pain. Application of vinegar or sandalwood paste works wonderfully on the sun burn patches. The effect of sandalwood paste gets intensified if it is treated with rose water. Soak a cotton ball into raw milk and coat the cold milk on the sunburn patches. It works like a natural bleach, reduces burning pain and reduces the annoying sun tan effect. This is an effective home remedy for sun burn. Application of ice pack on the sunburn patches not only soothes the irritation but also abruptly reduces the redness of skin tone due to sun burn problem. The repetition of this remedy offers the best advantage on the skin. Crush a potato after initial peeling and then should smear it on the sunburn areas. The extract of potato soothes the burning sensation and helps to rejuvenate new cells in the sun exposed skin areas.
