According to vastu shastra, doors and windows, like any other important part of our house also have an influential effect on our life. Basically used for the comfort, insulation and security of our home, doors and windows should hence, also be designed based on the vastu shastra rules. Follow the below mentioned vastu door rules which will help you enjoy a more fruitful and happy life.

• The number of doors and windows should preferably be in the even numbers such as 2, 4, 6, etc. However, they should not be 10 in number or in the multiples of 8.
• Most number of doors and windows in the house should be kept open in the North and east direction. Try keeping the doors and windows in the South and the western directions closed.
• Main door of your house should be taller and wider than rest of the doors in your house. Moreover, based on the feng shui front door tips, the door should be made of two shutters.
• The main door should lead you to the road without any obstacle in between, such as, trees, poles, etc. Also, make sure that you don’t have any temple just opposite to your house.

• All the doors and windows in the house should be carved from one type of wood. However, you should prefer opting for teak wood as an option for your doors and windows.
• Irregular or square shaped doors and windows are called inauspicious. As a result, prefer having simple rectangular shaped doors and windows in your house.
• The windows and doors in your home should not close automatically as these may affect the health of your children.
• Under any conditions, the size of the doors should not exceed or be less than the real size. Their size ratio should be about 2:1 (height and width).
• The doors should be repaired if they make noise while opening or closing it. Based on the vastu shastra rules, such types of noise prompt quarrels in the house.
• Also, cracked doors in the house should be repaired or simply replaced in the house.
• In order to draw positive energy into your house, you should put up certain beautiful pictures, paintings, etc. near your main vastu entrance door.
• In case you have another house opposite yours, make sure that the doors of both the houses don’t open towards each other.
• And lastly, in case you have more than one floor in your house, make sure that you don’t have one door above the other in the different floors.
